Desert Soul

A quiet meditation reflective discussion prayer time.

In both eastern and western Christianity, desert spirituality has formed the basis of a rich and fruitful underpinning of faith in every generation since it’s formation in the Egyptian deserts beginning in third century.

John Wesley himself was profoundly influenced by the desert fathers and in his life and works we see that all pervading, rich, inner spirituality which was such a vital and energetic part of the development of Methodism. Sadly we seem to have all but lost touch with that essential part of the narrative. Desert Soul seeks to rediscover such treasures in a world that yearns for spiritual encounter.

We meet on the 1st and 3rd  Wednesdays of the month at 3.00 p.m.

Where we spend time reflecting on our journey with God, sharing in contemplative silence, exploring our faith through Lectio Divina (divine reading) and encouraging each other along the path.
